  • Since the client needed to serve employee needs across plant shifts spanning the whole workday across entire USA, the 6AM – 8PM (follow the sun) Monday – Friday Service Desk coverage was setup for all continental US-based workers.
  • A US-based (east coast to align with the client company headquarters) Service Desk manager was assigned to the client, with an onshore/offshore analyst team taking calls and emails daily.
  • In addition, the following services were provided:
  • All licensing services, from procurement and assignment to management and auditing, with monthly reporting.
  • Using Intune, several areas of monitoring were implemented and reviewed daily, including risky logins, unauthorized attempts, and phishing deterrents.
  • An online eLearning library was included, as an icon in Teams, to quickly look up their own solutions within the Microsoft office application eLearning platform (e.g., when a customer cannot recall how to create Excel Macro, or a Word mailing list)
  • Monthly reporting on SLAs was created, trending up to four statistics each month, such as ticket number by category, resolved tickets, average time to resolution and outliers, time to answer etc.

Data Integrity Challenges

The overall health of a Salesforce organization relies heavily on data quality. In our partner’s case, separate data models for accounts, contacts, leads, systems and devices had become commonplace, leading to various challenges.
One key issue was the absence of data integrity check when they obtained data from various sources and forms. Additionally, the merging of data from acquired businesses resulted in the creation of multiple record types, which inhibited the ability to quickly cross-reference accounts, leads, contacts, systems and devices.

Inefficient Operations

The data quality issues outlined above further disrupted lead, case, and contract management, resulting in inefficiencies across marketing, product, sales, and support operations. Manual workflows, disorganized page layouts, redundant fields, and the absence of validation rules made routine tasks difficult to execute.

Challenges in Syncing data across applications

Since the partner owned several applications and mobile apps, data sync played a significant role in ensuring smooth application experience. Lack of correct architecture necessitated manual corrections which resulted in wasting resources’ time.

Summary

The Monetary Authority of Singapore announced that all insurance products in Singapore would now be permitted to be sold online without advice. This dramatic change to the market regulations created significant opportunities and challenges for insurers in Singapore.
Our Partner, a BFSI Insurer in Singapore, decided to use this opportunity to accelerate its Direct to Consumer (“D2C”) initiative and launch a new digital platform, making available online its top selling products. Our client aims to be the first-to-market established insurance company to offer products directly to Singaporeans.

Solution Implementation

What we did - Strategy

  • Articulated a digital origination and customer strategy including expected market size, the end-to-end customer journey for each customer segmentation and a blueprint for a the future digital organization.
  • Collaborated with the business to develop the entire operating model required for the Client to successfully run their new business.
  • Partnered with the client to navigate governmental regulatory challenges, address their requirements and gain approval to be the first in Singapore to sell endowment policies online without advice.
  • Trained each existing channel to deal with the complex service interactions on the platform and interactions between channels.
  • Developed the approach to the Digital Platform - to drive sales from new and existing customers and generate leads into their other, trusted channels with a goal that the online proposition should offer value not only for the business, but also for customers, agents and partners by providing qualified leads to agents and partners in real time.

What we did – User Experience & Development

  • Designed the user experience and visual design from scratch for both new and existing customers and radically simplified the existing origination process.
  • Collaborated with client teams from every part of the business to develop a solution that captured a 360° view of the organization’s requirements and product complexity.
  • Built the entire platform in sprints, integrating end-to-end encryption, customer, payment gateway, product and underwriting APIs,
  • Introduced agile ways-of-working to the client showing the power of cross-functional ways of working that supported their broader, ongoing transformation.
  • Developed and ran workshops with Agency leaders and Financial Consultants to support carefully-calibrated digital transformation within the organization.
  • Delivered comprehensive end-to-end digital services including Requirements Gathering, UX & Interface Wireframing, Agile and Secure Development, as well as Brand and Visual Design.

What we did – Data & Analytics

  • Performed an assessment of existing technology architecture, organizational requirements as a feasibility study for Big Data implementation.
  • Developed and implemented a data migration plan integrating multiple sources and legacy databases into a Big Data (Hadoop) environment.
  • Built and designed a big data infrastructure architecture and developed plans to support the growing needs of the organization.
  • Developed Qlik Sense-based analytics dashboards to provide the client with real-time visualisations and insight into customer, compliance, finance operations and human resource.
  • Developed a proof-of-concept for Cross-sell and Upsell customer models using predictive and machine learning modelling to increase probability of sales conversion, generate meaningful recommendations and serve as a foundation for future customer centric analytics.
  • Delivered comprehensive end-to-end digital services including Requirements Gathering, UX & Interface Wireframing, Agile and Secure Development, as well as Brand and Visual Design.

Results and Impact

A new MVP digital platform, allowing end-to-end purchase of 3 life products was delivered in just 10 weeks supported by a carefully designed operating model. From the Data & Analytics work stream, the client has real-time visibility and insight to support strategic growth.
In the subsequent phases, the digital platform was further enhanced:
  • 7 additional direct-to-customer products added and launched within the first year.
  • Deeper integration with the organizations’ backend systems including product data, CRM and marketing.
  • Extension of the platform to support partners & resellers.
  • Conversion rates were optimised in an iterative way based on analytics data.

Our non-profit organization partner collects and provides free business reliability reviews which has made their website rank among the top 500 most-visited websites in the US.
Our partner needed a corporate-wide Content management solution, which will provide a platform for an efficient and effective creation of content and its management along with interaction with various stakeholders. The key objective was to provide an effective solution to publish, edit and control content at their base site (US or Canada) and all their local sites.

Solution Implementation

  • The Salzer team's expertise and knowledge base contributed to continuous improvement in initiatives undertaken with our partner. The team applied its unique approach of strategic thinking to the evolutionary life cycle of product development.
  • Salzer built a content management system using EPiServer CMS for the entire organization. The team worked closely with our partner and provided an analysis model for their requirements. The recommended solution focused on two high-level components:
  • A public site which uses a routing and page processing engine – all public traffic to their official website and other projects is processed by this engine.
  • An administration site that is password-protected EPiServer admin pages and provides a streamlined UI to manage all aspects of the CMS system.
